|Abstract: ||Partial genetic maps were constructed of oil palm using molecular probes based on restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) and amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP). The maps were generated using the Join Map ver 2.0 computer programme. Of the three maps, the first map was constructed using the progeny of tenera (Palm T128) selfing and contains 102 AFLP and 54 RFLP markers. For the second map 149 AFLP markers were mapped using an interspecific cross o fa Colombian Elaeis oleifera palm T128 and palm T128, an E. guineensis from the Nigerian collection. The third map, containing 78 AFLP and RFLP markers, was constructed fron analysis progeny from the selfing of the E. guineensis tissue culture-derived ramet 90A.|
